exhibition
We were invited by my.monkey (Nancy, France) for an exhibition.
We decided to show the whole process we went through to create this exhibition, so the "spinal column" is the hundred email we exchanged with Morgan & Hugo from my.monkey during (approximatevely) 383 days since the first to the last one, the day we left Brussels to go to Nancy.
In one of his last email, Morgan, gave us the URL of a website with six different tieknots, to be smart during the opening night. That's why we decided to shoot six closeups of the six different tieknots. They all look the same but they're all different, what we tought funny (the photos were taken by our friend Olivier Cornil).
The other part of the exhibition was "The collection Collection", a serie of posters, badges, stickers, tshirts and a wallpaper. Every serie was done in a different printing process, offset - inkjet - silkscreen, different quantities, 10 - 250 - 500 - 2500, with the 4 pure colors of the CMYK + the wallpaper, in pure RGB red.
Since the theme of the exhibition was "the construction of a exhibition", we found interesting to put some micro-editions named "acrostiches" (the french for acrostic: a poem in which special letters spell another word) for the visitors to give us their meaning of our initials PLMD.
The same for the sandwich on the wall. A rumour started on a design forum and said the that we would maybe sell a sandwich for 5099 EUR. So we picked up a sandwich on the road to Nancy and stuck it to the wall as we arrived. We didn't sell it but it was fun to let it rot there on the wall, specially because Morgan & Hugo had to work in front of it during the whole month, my.monkey is also the place where they work.
The melted pieces of wood on the invitation were in fact our initials too, PLMD.
